Trump’s Controversial Social Media Post After Reiner’s Death
On Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social about the recent deaths of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, a message that quickly sparked national outrage.
In the post, Trump described the tragedy in political terms, suggesting Reiner’s well-known criticism of him contributed to the fatal incident. Trump wrote that Reiner died “reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind-crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” and claimed the director had “driven people crazy by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump.”
Trump’s statement did briefly acknowledge the sadness of the couple’s death before launching into a political critique; however, most of the post focused on attacking Reiner’s political views rather than offering condolences.
