If you know what these holes in the ground mean, you’re one of me
These small, conical holes in dry ground are antlion larvae traps (sometimes called “Doodle Bug” in certain regions).
We called them ant eater traps. The ant falls in them and this little creature with pinchers grabs it

Details About the Holes and Antlion Larvae
Hunting Method: The antlion larva hides at the bottom of the funnel-shaped pit. When prey, usually an ant, walks along the edge of the hole, the loose sand gives way, causing the prey to slide straight into the bottom.
Tactics: If the prey tries to climb out of the hole, the larva flicks sand at it to cause a small landslide, making the prey fall back down to the bottom.
Life Cycle: The larva can live in this stage for up to several years, after which it will spin a cocoon and transform into a winged insect that resembles a dragonfly or damselfly, but is a weaker flyer and has clubbed antennae.
Harmfulness: These creatures are completely harmless to humans and pets and are actually beneficial as they help control the population of insects like ants.
