Ingredients
- 1 large bag of tortilla chips
- 1–2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a mix)
- 1 cup cooked protein (ground beef, shredded chicken, or beans)
- ½ cup black beans or pinto beans (optional)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1–2 jalapeños, sliced (optional)
- 1 tomato, diced
- ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)
- Sour cream, guacamole, and salsa for topping
- 1 teaspoon chili powder or taco seasoning (if using ground beef or chicken)
Instructions
- Preheat oven:
- 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use an oven-safe dish.
- Cook protein (if needed):
- For ground beef or chicken, cook with a little oil, onion, and taco seasoning until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Assemble nachos:
- Spread a layer of tortilla chips on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese, cooked protein, beans, diced onion, jalapeños, and olives.
- Add another layer if desired and repeat toppings.
- Bake:
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Top and serve:
- Remove from oven and top with diced tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
- Serve immediately.
